  • SITE EVALUATION AND SOIL TESTING FOR ONE AND TWO FAMILY DWELLINGS.

BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE

DEFINITIONS OF CLASSIFICATIONS: (per Section 310 / 301.1 of NYS Building Code)

R-1     --          Residential occupancies where the occupants are primarily transient in nature including: Boarding Houses, Hotels and Motels (all transient)

R-2     --          Residential occupancies containing sleeping units or more than two dwelling units where the occupants are primarily permanent in nature, including: Apartment houses, Boarding houses (not transient) Convents, Dormitories, Fraternities and sororities, Monasteries, Vacation timeshare properties, Hotels (non transient), Motels (non transient)

R-3     --          Residential occupancies where the occupants are primarily permanent in nature and not classified as R-1, R-2, R-4 or I and where buildings do not contain more than two dwelling units, as applicable in Section 101.2. Adult and child care facilities that are within a single family home are permitted to comply with the Residential Code of New York State in accordance with Section 101.2.

R-4     --          Residential occupancies shall include buildings arranged for occupancy as Residential Care/Assisted Living Facilities including more than five but not more than 16 occupants, excluding staff.  Group R-4 occupancies shall meet the requirements for construction as defined for Group R-3, except as otherwise provided for in this code, or shall comply with the Residential Code of New York State in accordance with Section 101.2.

 

NOTE: THE FLOOR AREA IS BASED UPON OUTSIDE DIMENSIONS OF STRUCTURES AND ALL HABITABLE STORIES. FLOOR AREA DOES NOT INCLUDE NONHABITABLE CELLARS, BASEMENTS, AND ATTICS, NOT CRAWL SPACES. FLOOR AREA INCLUDED SPACE FOR ACCESSORY USE, WHETHER WITHIN THE DWELLING OR ON THE PREMISES THEREOF.

ALL DWELLINGS – Residential (see Section 310):(i.e. Groups R-1, R-2, R-3, as applicable in Section 101.2,of the Uniform Code) and R-4.

            Up to 1,000 square feet of floor area.................................................... 35.00

            1,001 to 2,000 square feet of floor area................................................ 50.00

            2,001 to 3,000 square feet of floor area................................................ 75.00

            3,001 to 4,000 square feet of floor area...............................................100.00

DEFINITIONS OF CLASSIFICATIONS: (per Section 302 / 302.1 of NYS Building Code)

302.1 General. Structures or portions of structures shall be classified with respect to occupancy in one or more of the groups listed below. Structures with ;multiple uses shall be classified according to Section 302.3. Where a structure is proposed for a purpose which is not specifically provided for in this code, such structure shall be classified in the group which the occupancy most nearly resembles, according to the fire safety and relative hazard involved.

    1. ASSEMBLY (Section 303) Groups A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4 and A-5.
    2. BUSINESS (Section 304): Group B
    3. EDUCATIONAL (see Section 305): Group E.
    4. FACTORY INDUSTRIAL (see Section 306): Groups F-1 and F-2.
    5. HIGH HAZARD (see Section 307): Groups H-1, H-2, H-3, H-4, and H-5.
    6. INSTITUTIONAL (see Section 308); Groups I-1, I-2, I-3, and I-4.
    7. MERCANTILE (see Section 309): Group M.
    8. STORAGE (SEE Section 311): Groups S-1 and S-2.
    9. UTILITY AND MISCELLANEOUS (See Section 312): Group U. 

ALL NONDWELLINGS (i.e. Categories 1 – 9 above of the Uniform Code)

             120 to 1,000 square feet of floor area.................................................25.00

            1,001 to 2,000 square feet of floor area.................................................70.00

            2,001 to 3,000 square feet of floor area.................................................90.00

            3,001 to 4,000 square feet of floor area...............................................110.00

            Over 4,000 square feet, for each 100 square feet over..........................2.00

MIXED OCCUPANCY FUILDING: The fee is the sum of the residential area and nonresidential area fees, calculated separately in accordance with the above.

Any detached building less than 120 square feet is not subject to Permit unless electrical, kitchen, water, or used for occupancy.

ADDITIONS: The Fee is determined from the previous page for dwellings and nonresidential buildings, as applicable.

ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS (including but not limited to electric, siding roofing and interior remodeling.)

FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE:

All categories of Occupancy. Solid fuel burning device installations and Repairs.

           

**********A Basic Fee of $ 20.00 per call will be charged.***********

 

NO FEES will be charged for emergency inspection immediately following a

chimney fire.

 

NOTE: Inspection time is defined as the inspector’s time on the site.

 

Fee for revision or renewal of Building Permit:

            $ 5.00 plus any basic fee adjustment in case of revision.
